Individual Classes for Credit
| What are Fusion’s Individual Classes for Credit? |
Fusion provides college-prepartory, for-credit classes for students in need of a more specialized, one-on-one educational environment. We are dedicated to providing the highest-quality, individually tailored programs. Fusion Academy and Learning Center is WASC accredited and UC approved. All courses are accepted as transferred units by all San Dieguito Union High School District schools and most other districts. Standard- and Honors-level courses meet the University of California 'a-g' requirements for college-level acceptance. Upon successful completion of class, transcripts are automatically delivered to the student's school of choice. Students can complete an entire year of a course in one summer. A maximum of 2-3 classes can be taken in one summer. |
|
|
| How are these courses taught? |
| All subjects are taught on a one-on-one basis. In addition to working individually with the teacher, the student is required to complete approximately two to four hours of homework between sessions. All homework is assigned individually to the student, and each assignment is modified to accommodate varying learning styles. Fusion uses the Mastery Learning Method to ensure that all students understand the material studied at a minimum 70-percent mastery level. Because classes are taught on a one-on-one basis, students can begin a semester class at any time of the year. |
|
| Course levels and lengths |

| What if my child needs homework assistance? |
| Fusion understands that students often need some support to adequately complete their homework and to reach mastery level. The Homework Café is open to all students taking independent study classes and/or receiving tutoring at Fusion. This closely monitored, study hall-style program is available on a drop-in basis, and is open from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Homework Café hours are billed at $15 per hour on a monthly basis. |
